‘s-Table

This table is DESIGNed in the same style as the ‘s-Chair. It is sturdy and stable thanks to a clear design and a smart wood construction.

The robust frame provides a lot of stability. The HPL top layer adds color to the table but also makes the table top durable and sustainable. This makes the table multifunctional and suitable for both project-based use and residential Applications.

For us, that doesn't just mean giving information about where something has been produced. Our chain starts much earlier: with the designer of the product!

The 's-Table was designed by Jeroen Wand. With his studio in Eindhoven, he researches the raw, unpolished side of design, developing objects, products, installations and environments that encourage finding alternative forms of what is beautiful or pleasant.

Where other furniture often opts for one type of wood, Jeroen used a quirky combination of solid oak and plywood parts here. This ensures that the table has an uncomplicated but rich look that matches different interior styles. You will also find the same combination of materials in the matching 's-Chair from the same series.

The ’s-Table has been part of the Vij5 collection since 2014. Because Jeroen has his studio close to ours, we regularly get a sneak peek of his New projects at an early stage.

This table belongs to the ‘s-Chair and was originally DESIGNed for the New education space of the Stedelijk Museum ’s-Hertogenbosch (hence the ‘s in the name). Of course, the table can also be combined very nicely with other chairs!

Each table is custom-made.

The plywood Share of the frame and the solid oak-wood legs are produced in Eindhoven (NL) in Jeroen's workshop.

There are several molds for milling the frames, but due to the flexibility of the intermediate parts of the frame, practically any size is possible.

The top is ordered as a whole sheet with HPL already glued on and then sawn to size.

The frame is glued and screwed to the table top.

During assembly, you slide the solid oak legs into the frame, after which it is secured with the characteristic slot bolts. This is done on site/at the customer's home so that the whole thing is easy to transport.

In the material passport you can find where and by whom the different parts of this product are made.

HPL is the abbreviation for High Pressure Laminate. An HPL sheet consists of a wood fiber or paper core and two top layers that are compressed together under high pressure and at a high temperature. This creates a very dense, hard and dimensionally stable sheet. The material does not retain dirt and is easy to clean. HPL is durable because it has a very long lifespan.

We work from an easily accessible industrial hall (2 minutes from the A2) near the residential boulevard of Den Bosch. Most products can be seen here, but at the moment the showroom is in use for another large project. So please get in touch and especially let us know what you'd like to see, and we'll see what's possible!
