This stackable chair is sturdy and stable thanks to its clean design and clever wooden construction. Both the backrest and the seat are composed of facets that give the chair a distinctive silhouette while also enhancing seating comfort.
The frame provides such a high degree of stability that the chair can withstand extremely high loads in accordance with NEN-EN 16139 Level 2. That’s quite remarkable for a wooden chair!
The chair is available with a colored HPL finish (as shown here) or in an upholstered versionmade with Kvadrat fabric, and is suitable for both commercial and residential use.
The HPL version of the ‘s-Chair is available in three standard colours. Other colours are also available upon request.
This chair is part of the ‘s-Table collection and features the same unique combination of solid oak, plywood, and HPL as the table in the series. Of course, the chair also pairs beautifully with other designer tables!

The ’s-Chair was designed b by Jeroen Wand . Jeroen originally designed the chair for the education space at the Stedelijk Museum ’s-Hertogenbosch (hence the “’s-”). From his studio in Eindhoven, he explores the raw, unpolished side of design, using this approach to develop objects, products, installations, and environments that encourage people to discover alternative forms of beauty and pleasure.
Whereas other Furniture often opt for a single type of wood, Jeroen used a unique combination of solid oak and plywood components here. This gives the chair a simple yet rich look that complements a variety of interior styles. You’ll also find the same combination of materials in the matching ‘s-Tablefrom the same series.
The HPL top layer provides colour, but is also a multifunctional and wear-resistant material. HPL stands for High-Pressure Laminate. An HPL panel consists of a wood fiber or paper core and two top layers that are compressed under high pressure and at a high temperature. This creates a very dense, hard, and dimensionally stable panel. The material does not trap dirt and is easy to clean. HPL is sustainable because it has a very long service life.
