's-Table

This table is designed in the same design language as the 's-Chair. It is sturdy and stable thanks to a clear design and clever wood construction.

The sturdy frame provides plenty of stability. The HPL top coat adds color to the table but also makes the table top hard-wearing and durable. This makes the table multifunctional and suitable for both project use and residential applications.

For us, that doesn't just mean giving information about where something has been produced. Our chain starts much earlier: with the designer of the product!

The 's-Table was designed by Jeroen Wand. With his studio in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, he explores the raw, unpolished side of design, developing objects, products, installations and environments that encourage finding alternative forms of what is beautiful or pleasant.

Whereas other furniture often chooses one type of wood, here Jeroen used a quirky combination of solid oak and plywood parts. This ensures that the table has an uncomplicated but rich look that matches various interior styles. The same material combination can also be found in the matching 's-Chair from the same series.

The 's-Table has been part of the Vij5 collection since 2014. Since Jeroen has his studio close to ours, we regularly get an early preview of his new projects.

This table belongs to the 's-Chair and was originally designed for the new education room of the Stedelijk Museum 's-Hertogenbosch (hence the 's in the name). Of course, the table is also very nice to combine with other chairs!

Every table is custom-made.

The plywood Share of the frame and the solid oak-wood legs are produced in Eindhoven (NL) in Jeroen's workshop.

There are several molds for milling the frames, but due to the flexibility of the frame's spacers, practically any size is possible.

The top is ordered as a whole sheet with HPL on it already glued and then cut to size.

The frame is glued and screwed to the table top.

You slide the solid oak legs into the frame during assembly after which it is secured with the typical carriage bolts. This is done on the project/at the customer's home so that the assembly is easy to transport.

In the material passport you can find where and by whom the different parts of this product are made.

HPL is the abbreviation for High Pressure Laminate, or "high pressure laminate. An HPL board consists of a wood fiber or paper core and two top layers that are pressed together under high pressure and at a high temperature. This creates a very dense, hard and dimensionally stable board. The material does not hold dirt and is easy to clean. HPL is durable because it has a very long lifespan.
