Papeterie is a unique design piece that brings order to the books and magazines you like to keep close by. A small selection remains visible and within easy reach, without turning into a loose pile. Place in a reading nook, on a sideboard, on a wide windowsill, or next to your bed—in the places where books and magazines naturally tend to pile up.
The slanted back keeps books and magazines of various sizes in place, while the ribbed bottom prevents them from slipping out. The ribbed texture also provides space for smaller items you like to keep close at hand, such as glasses, a pencil, or a phone.

Suitable for various types of books and magazines
The slanted back of Papeterie supports books and magazines of different sizes and thicknesses, while the ribbed surface on the bottom provides extra grip and helps keep them securely in place. This makes it easy to combine books and magazines in different sizes.
As a result, Papeterie works well not only for magazines and novels, but also, for example, for children’s books, cookbooks, sketchbooks, or other books that you like to keep visible and within easy reach.
The ribbed bottom also serves an additional purpose: it provides a place to keep smaller items, such as a remote control, a key, or a pen.
Papeterie: an object with a character of its own
Papeterie was designed by Fynn Freyschmidt and Lisa Keller, who work together under the name KellerFreyschmidt. Their designs often originate in everyday life: from things they see around them, use themselves, or feel are missing.
With Papeterie, they noticed how books and magazines naturally tend to pile up in the places where you actually use them. Based on that observation, they started exploring what would be needed — at a minimum — to bring some order to those spaces in a simple way.
The result is a compact object that deliberately does not dictate where it should be placed or exactly how it should be used. That is why Papeterie is difficult to place within an existing product category and, precisely because of this, can bring a distinctive element to the interior.

Solid ash wood with a matte finish
Papeterie is made from solid ash wood and finished with coloured linseed oil. This protects the wood and gives the surface a matte appearance, while the natural wood grain remains subtly visible.
Papeterie is available in black, purple-blue, and brick red as standard. For an additional charge, we can also finish Papeterie in a different colour. Please feel free to contact us.
Locally made in our own workshop in Den Bosch
Papeterie is made in small batches in our own workshop in Den Bosch. The ribbed pattern is milled layer by layer from solid ash using a CNC milling machine. The outer edges are then rounded, and the back is cut to size. Next, all the parts are sanded, glued, and finished by hand with coloured linseed oil.
Because we make this book and magazine holder ourselves, the lines of communication are short, and if you have any questions, you can contact the makers directly.
