The BL28 LED is a new version of the famous Brass Lights from David Derksen. The lamp’s shape is created by simply by folding a 0.3-mm-thick brass sheet: by . The bending lines are etched into the material, after which the lamp is folded by hand and assembled in Eindhoven.
While the original Brass Lights series uses the more traditional E27 light sources, David created this new version of the lamp to meet current lighting design requirements. The new lamp therefore features LED lighting and a diffuser that provides better and brighter light output, regardless of the lampshade’ colour . The LED driver is integrated into the lamp. The lamp’s form has also been simplified and modernized, without losing the aesthetics and delicacy of the original Brass Lights. by As the surroundings are reflected in the shiny brass surfaces, each facet takes on its own hue, ranging from dark gold to yellow to beige.
