This round mirror is divided into two semicircles, made of clear and “ coloured ” mirror glass. The back features a handmade solid oak ring, providing a simple mounting system that allows the mirror to be hung in any desired position to suit the user’s mood and needs.
The mirror is easily mounted on the wall with two screws.
The Moonrise Mirror is inspired by the moon's orbit around the Earth, through which it reveals itself to us in various forms. This marks the seasons and the passing of the month.
The balance between light and dark in the lunar cycle marks a time of growth and a new beginning with the moon in the “first quarter”: spring. The “last quarter” represents the beginning of the end of the cycle, during which old structures are broken down and the way is paved for new ones: fall. This phenomenon and its graphic interpretation served as inspiration for the design of the Moonrise Mirror.
