Epaulette is a picture frame or mirror that emphasizes the corners.
The structure consists of oak components held together by L-shaped corner brackets made of copper or brass. The frame can be mounted either horizontally or vertically, using a screw or nail in the wall, by the cutouts in the back panel.
The profiles are slid into the corners like épaulettes and enhance the expression of the frame in a subtle but characteristic way. The corners of a frame define the silhouette and can therefore be seen as the 'shoulders' of an image.
