Alf is a wall hook adapted to accommodate up to five clothes hangers at the same time.

The hook of each standard hanger fits perfectly into the cut-out grooves that separate the hangers neatly from each other at the same time. Ideal for airing clothes, for example, or for hanging them ready for the next day.

For us, that doesn't just mean giving information about where something has been produced. Our chain starts much earlier: with the designer of the product!

Alf was designed by the Swedish designer Gustav Rosén. He has his own design studio in Stockholm where he develops IT concepts as well as furniture, lighting and everyday objects.

The inspiration for Alf comes from precision turned components for engines, where different parts fit perfectly with each other. He translated this principle into a beautiful item for the interior.

Alf has been part of the Vij5 collection since 2020. The simple but clever design of this wall hook immediately appealed to us. It is a product that is functional and space-saving, but at the same time easy on the eyes. A hook that makes your wall look impressive! Ideal for airing your clothes or to hang them neatly, ready for the next day.

The Alf is a very basic product that consists of only one material, which means that there is not much technology needed to make it. Gustav had already taken care of the right design, so all we had to do was fine-tune it: creating the right suspension mechanism and finding a suitable manufacturer. Working from Stockholm, Gustav had contacts with a producer in Lithuania. This turned out to be a good partner. We had a number of prototypes made there and these were almost right from the start. After some final minor adjustments in the details, we were good to go!

The Alf is made from a solid piece of oak wood and is produced in Lithuania by a company that specializes in CNC wood turning. This company was already a contact of the designer from Sweden, since Lithuania is 'on the other side of the water' for him.

Subsequently, the product is provided with a protective layer of linseed linseed oil in natural or black in the Vij5 workshop.

We work from an easily accessible industrial hall (2 minutes from the A2) near the residential boulevard of Den Bosch. Most products can be seen here, but at the moment the showroom is in use for another large project. So please get in touch and especially let us know what you'd like to see, and we'll see what's possible!
