This designer garden set consists of one 90 x 150 cm table and two pieces of chairs (without cushions), made of solid oak and treated with linseed oil.
Table 18×54 and Chair 18×36 get their name from the dimensions of the profile of the slats (in millimeters) used for the design and construction of this furniture. In fact, if you look closely, you can see that they are constructed from identical slats. This has created a typical construction that creates a special silhouette.
Made of PEFC-certified oak, the furniture is treated with natural linseed oil to which a fungicide has been added. This allows you to use them both indoors and outdoors. Of course, the furniture can also be delivered untreated.
The table is a former show model and we are reviewing before delivery, the chairs are new and will be assembled and oiled to order.
Chair 18 x 36 and Table 18 x 54 were designed by autonomous designer Floris Hovers. His Design surprise with their disarming simplicity. No abstract minimalism, but the end result of a long process of reduction.
For this garden set, Floris set himself the goal of Design outdoor furniture by using only one type of lath (albeit in two different lengths). Because he imposed this restriction on himself, a typical construction emerged naturally. The chair is constructed from slats with a profile of 18 x 36 mm and the table from slats with a profile of 18 x 54 mm.
