Floris Hovers
Floris Hovers (1976) lives and works in Raamsdonksveer (NL), where he also grew up. After completing a basic course in architecture and a program in advertising and presentation design, he graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2004. In 2006, he founded his own design studio.
Floris Hovers ’s “ Design ” – Furniture, Lighting , and miniatures – surprise by with their disarming simplicity. Not abstract minimalism, but the end result of a long process of reduction. What remains is the essence—an almost cartoonish composition of form, construction, and colour. Achieved through a collaboration between man and machine. Many of his products reveal a somewhat naive, playful approach. “My Design must be legible and recognizable.”
