Arjan van Raadshooven
& Anieke Branderhorst
Arjan van Raadshooven (1981) and Anieke Branderhorst (1982) are the founders and curators of the “ Vij5 ” collection. Arjan studied “Architecture” at TU/e, and Anieke studied in the “Man & Identity” and “Man & Communication” departments at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Immediately after graduating in 2006, they founded the design label Vij5 . Together, they designed the core of the product collection and select products from external Designers to complement the label.
The collaboration between Anieke and Arjan is bearing fruit thanks to the strong bond between them—both in their personal and professional lives. Each person’s qualities and skills complement those of the other. Convinced that collaboration adds value in every conceivable situation, it became one of the core principles ofVij5, evident in the growing number of collaborations with other Designers. In doing so, the couple seeks out Design that align with their own signature style.
One moment, Arjan and Anieke are in a factory inspecting prototypes of a New product; the next, they’re manufacturing in their own workshop in Eindhoven or presentingVij5 at an exhibition in the Netherlands or abroad.“That variety is what makes our work so enjoyable. We’re involved in the entire design process and have a say in how it unfolds. Our work is a combination of entrepreneurship and Design.”
