Commissioned by Dutch Design Foundation, Vij5 was responsible for furnishing the Press Centre of Dutch Design Week (DDW) 2018. For the occasion, we designed a temporary intervention following our design for the Business Lounge, focusing on sustainability and circularity. For this project we collaborated with ECOR panels, Forbo Marmoleum, Kvadrat textiles and de Klerk floral design and interior planting.
For the Press Centre, we created an inspiring space at Dutch Design Foundation headquarters to host journalists, photographers and camera crews. At the same time, the Press Centre offered work and lounge areas decorated with various items from the Vij5 collection.
" A temporary intervention focused on sustainability and circularity. "
Not to be missed this year was one of the newest additions to the Vij5 collection: the Trestle Table from David Derksen.
Taking into account the exclusivity and function of the space, we wanted to create a place with both a temporary character and a high-end feel. By placing a large circle of 100% recycled and recyclable panels, we created an architectural intervention in the existing space.
This concept was complemented by the temporary use of various items from the Vij5 collection, made from pure and sustainable materials.
After the event, the space was returned to its original state. All design items were borrowed and returned afterwards.
