Commissioned by the “ Dutch Design ” Foundation, Vij5 was responsible for designing the Press Center for the 2018 “ Dutch Design ” Week (DDW). For the occasion, we designed a temporary installation that complemented our design for the Business Lounge, with a focus on sustainability and circularity. For this project, we collaborated with ECOR panels, Forbo Marmoleum, Kvadrat textiles, and De Klerk floral art and interior landscaping.
For the Press Center, we created an inspiring space at the Dutch Design Foundation’s headquarters to welcome journalists, photographers, and camera crews. At the same time, the Press Center offered workspaces and lounge areas furnished with various items from the “ Vij5 ” collection.
“A temporary measure aimed at sustainability and circularity.”
One of the must-see items this year was one of the newest additions to the Vij5 collection: the Trestle Table by David Derksen.
Taking into account the exclusivity and function of the space, we wanted to create a place that was both temporary in nature and had a high-end feel. by By installing a large circle of 100% recycled and recyclable panels, we created an architectural intervention in the existing space.
This concept was complemented by the temporary use of various items from the “ Vij5 ” collection, made from pure and sustainable materials.
After the event, the space was restored to its original condition. All design items were borrowed and returned afterward.
