Dutch Design Week Business Lounge by Vij5

with No comments

Commissioned by Dutch Design Foundation & Renault , Vij5 was responsible for furnishing the new Business Lounge of Dutch Design Week (DDW) 2018. The Business Lounge was a temporarily furnished meeting place with workstations, WI-FI and a checkroom for visitors with a DDW Pro ticket. Some private lunches and meetings also took place in the back space of the Business Lounge.

Temporary intervention

For the occasion, we designed a temporary intervention following our design for the Press Centre. Taking into account the exclusivity and functions of the spaces, we provided both a temporary character and a high-end look at both locations, focusing on sustainability and circularity.

A temporary intervention focused on sustainability and circularity.

Circle

In the Press Centre, we created an architectural intervention in the existing space with a large circle of 100% recycled and recyclable panels. In the Business Lounge, half of this circle was repeated, creating an inviting gesture and identity for the space. At the same time, this intervention connected the different spaces.

This concept was complemented by the temporary use of various items from the Vij5 collection, made from pure and sustainable materials.

New Vij5 product

For the Business Lounge Floris Hovers was commissioned by Vij5 to design a new bar stool, Tilt Bar Stool, which will be introduced later in the Vij5 collection.

After the event, the space was returned to its original state. All design items were borrowed and returned afterwards.
