We finish the birch plywood with Satin Wood Oil: a matte oil that stains the wood while allowing the wood grain to remain visible.
With 23 colors available for both components, there are more than 500 possible combinations. Since we haven’t physically created them all, the configurator gives you an idea of what the final result will look like. in real life , the color and wood grain in real life vary slightly, but that’s exactly what makes each table unique.

Qui Side Table: born from material research
The Qui side table was designed by Marc Th. van der Voorn and grew from an exploration of the properties of thin plywood. By experimenting with the material, it became clear how it behaves: flexible in one direction and strong in the other.
Those properties form the foundation of the design. By applying the material in different directions, a lightweight construction is created that is still strong enough for daily use. The tabletop brings all parts together and provides stability, while the shape beneath it creates space for storage.
Design side table with open storage space
Beneath the tabletop, you will find an open space that is ready to use right away. It’s perfect for a stack of magazines, a book, a rolled-up throw, or other items you like to keep within easy reach. You can put something down and grab it just as easily. This side table makes it easy to quickly store items without hiding them out of sight.
by of thin plywood, the side table has a slight flexibility and can give a little. This is a natural characteristic of the material and an intentional part of the design. If you place something in the space underneath the tabletop, the table will become heavier and more stable. That’s how you can give the table a little extra support!
Lightweight wooden side table that is easy to move around
The Qui side table is lightweight, making it easy to pick up and move around. Use it as a small table beside the sofa for a cup of coffee, then place it in a reading corner or use it as an extra side table when guests arrive. Thanks to its compact size, it fits easily into different spaces and can be used exactly where and when you need it.
Birch plywood and a matte finish
This design side table is made from birch plywood and finished with coloured linseed oil. The finish protects the wood while allowing the grain to remain visible. This gives the surface a calm, natural appearance. As a result, the table has a warm feel and blends easily into a variety of interiors.
The side table is available in a standard duo-colour version, but you can also choose your own colour combination. This allows you to personalise the table and tailor it to your space.
Locally produced, made with care
The Qui side table comes to life step by step. The various components are CNC milled at a social workshop in the Netherlands, where everything is made with care.
They are then assembled and finished by in our workshop in Den Bosch. There, we check the fit, glue the parts together, and finish the wood with colored linseed oil. This allows us to remain involved in the entire process and ensure the quality of every table.
The result is a side table that feels personal rather than anonymous — carefully made and brought to life by several people.
