Studio Mieke Meijer
Studio Mieke Meijer is a Dutch design studio run by Mieke Meijer and Roy Letterlé.
A constructive language of form, clean lines and industrial details contribute to a strong, recognisable signature. The designs of Studio Mieke Meijer are never purely functional, but offer the user the freedom to use them in his own way. This helps them maintain their autonomy. The designs are usually handmade in their Eindhoven workshop. Craftsmanship and demanding finishing are of fundamental importance.
Mieke (Wezep, 1982) graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven. Roy (Kerkrade, 1978) studied architecture at the PTH in Eindhoven. Together they work on self-initiated and commissioned projects. They teach at Design Academy Eindhoven and the HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht.
Mieke and Vij5 first met in 2007. Upon discovering NewspaperWood in Mieke's portfolio, a collaboration was quickly born!
