Studio Mieke Meijer
Studio Mieke Meijer is a Dutch design studio run by Mieke Meijer and Roy Letterlé.
A constructive form language, clean lines and industrial details contribute to a strong, recognizable signature. Studio Mieke Meijer's Design are never purely functional, but offer the user the freedom to use them in their own way. This helps them maintain their autonomy. The Design are mostly handmade in their Eindhoven workshop. Craftsmanship and exacting finishing are fundamental.
Mieke (Wezep, 1982) graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven. Roy (Kerkrade, 1978) studied architecture at the PTH in Eindhoven. Together they work on self-initiated and commissioned projects. They teach at Design Academy Eindhoven and the HKU Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.
Mieke and Vij5 first met in 2007. Upon discovering NewspaperWood in Mieke's portfolio, a collaboration was quickly born!
