Arjan van Raadshooven
& Anieke Branderhorst
Arjan van Raadshooven (1981) and Anieke Branderhorst (1982) are the initiators and curators of the Vij5 collection. Arjan studied 'Architecture' at TU/e and Anieke studied at the 'Man & Identity' and 'Man & Communication' departments of the Design Academy Eindhoven. Immediately after their graduation in 2006 they founded design label Vij5 . Together they designed the basis of the product collection and select products by external designers to complete the label.
The cooperation between Anieke and Arjan bears fruit because of the strong connection between them - both in their private and working lives. The qualities and skills of one complement those of the other. Convinced of the fact that cooperation provides added value in every conceivable situation, it became one of the basic principles of Vij5, visible in the growing number of collaborations with other designers. In doing so, the couple searches for Design that is in keeping with their own signature.
One moment Arjan and Anieke are in a factory checking the prototypes of a new product; the next moment they are producing in their own workshop in Eindhoven or presenting Vij5 at an exhibition at home or abroad. "That variation is what makes our work so much fun. We are involved in the entire design process and have an influence on the course of the process. Our work is a combination of enterprise and Design."
